Casa Robles Taqueria

Two tacos de asada and one design please.

Casa Robles Taqueria is a small family owed taco restuarant located in Waverly, Iowa. They were in need of a couple of designs for their t shirt merchandise.

Casa Robles wanted to represent their Mexican heritage and tacos, of course. They wanted “ chicano(a) culture, cholo culture, colors, low-riders, something that [showed their] Mexican pride.”

A simple black and white design with the iconic Mexican eagle and snake, but with a twist. Complimented with a gothic typeface that is seen a lot in Chicano art.

Casa Robles wanted a taco character and Cholo Taco was born. Inspired by iconic cholo attire, this character represents the street culture that will never die for as long as low-riders cruise the streets.

Inspired by the design style lucha libre event posters have, I created a design that honored the beloved sport of Lucha-Libre or Mexican wrestling. A luchadors mask is important and sacred as a taco from Casa Robles.
